Abstract: 

Biography: Dr. Prasert is the former lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, during that time his work was on the design and development of airlift photobioreactor for the cultivation of single cell algae, the large scale design of integrated and recirculating aquaculture systems, the utilization of industrial wastes such as ash and biomass waste for adsorption purposes, and the performance evaluation based on life cycle assessment approach.

Dr. Prasert is also the former head for research divisions at the Environmental and Hazardous Waste Management Excellent Center at Chulalongkorn University, and at the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). He was also appointed as an acting vice president for general administration at Vidyasirimethi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC). Prior to joining the TRR group, he served as a program director on researchers and research for industry at the Thailand Research Fund.

His current research direction at TRR focused on the valorization of by-products from sugar mills such as the upgrade of bagasse to high value cellulose derivatives, the utilization of molasses for nutraceutical purposes, the conversion of cane filter cakes to higher value materials like fertilizer or cane-peat, etc.
